Our Story

The Church's One Foundation

Before you or I were ever born, before the earth was ever formed or the stars ever hung in the sky, the Triune God chose a people for Himself, a gift from the Father to His Son. We know these people as the church, God’s people, for whom God the Son, in the fullness of time, took on flesh to redeem.

After the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, His followers were gathered, commissioned, and scattered to take the gospel to the nations, thus beginning the church age. The church went forth with the promise of Christ’s power and His presence, and because of that, the church has continued to proclaim the gospel to this present day.

The Story of Ashland Grace

In the early 1900s, God gave a group of people in Ashland, Ohio a passion for teaching God's Word, caring for the next generation, and taking the gospel to the nations. What began as an afternoon Sunday School for kids soon grew into a brand new church, which began meeting in 1913 to reach and serve our community.

By God's grace, for over one hundred years, we have been about those very same things. We continue to value preaching and teaching God's Word. We continue to value investment in the next generation coming to know, love, and follow God. We continue to value taking the gospel to the lost, beginning in Ashland but spreading all over the world.

Grace Church Today

In early 2022, Josh Wilson was called as our new Senior Pastor, becoming just our fourth pastor in over five decades thanks to a legacy of faithful leadership. As Josh likes to remind our church, the more we see things changing in our world, the more we need to focus on the things that remain the same: God, His Word, His church, and His mission.

As we move into the future, we want to continue to be a church that loves Jesus, is faithful to His Word, is passionate to see the next generation come to find life in His name, and committed to reaching our community and our world with the life-changing truth of the gospel.

Ashland Grace is a special place, and it's because we're a people who have been saved by the grace of Christ. We hope you find the joy of Jesus to be irresistibly compelling in our lives, our ministry, and our witness.
